Meeting Notes

Discussed the Fall 2013 Outreach Strategic survey questions. Added a few, edited a few. Will put them up in SurveyMonkey, with the goal of Oct. 1 at the latest for the release of the survey. We'll put it out for 2 weeks, with the possibility of a one week extension depending on participation rates. The goal is to be done by end of October, release the results in mid-November (earlier for all things if possible).

Erin then discussed the schedule for promoting the National Agenda. Erin is keeping a spreadsheet of activities, but updates are also available in the rollout section on the wiki. There are a number of activities happening, including an ASERL webinar and one being hosted by Duraspace.

A degree of activity is centered on the ALA Midwinters conference in January 2014. In addition to an NDSA presentation during the conference, the group is exploring an NDSA regional meeting in conjunction with ALA.

Jaime Schumacher of the POWRR project noted that they have numerous outreach activities planned regarding their project and have funds to support travel and presentations. They volunteered to help coordinate NDSA regional meetings in the midwest and to provide support for an NDSA poster at some of the conferences they are planning to attend.

Actions:

  • Finalize survey questions.
  • Secretariat will provide SurveyMonkey to host the survey and Butch will mark up the questions.
  • NDSA Agenda Outreach Group will coordinate future outreach activities around the National Agenda and will keep the main Outreach group informed on the activities.
  • Erin, Butch and Jaime will get together offline to start thinking about upcoming midwest NDSA regional meetings. Jaime will share their travel calendar to help the group start planning for future poster presentations.
