Notes from 5/20 meeting:

Participants: John Spencer, Kate Zwaard, Andrea Goethals, Emily Shaw, Winston Atkins, Mary Vardigan, Tracy Popp, Sheila Morrissey, Carol Kussman, Nancy McGovern, Midge Coates, Butch Lazorchak, Matt Schultz, Meg Philips, Amy Kirchhoff, Nick Sincaglia

1. Nancy McGovern - TDR Self-assessment and Audit trying to organize the following 3 activities under this project:

a) where are we at? (Community context) b) Implementation examples c) Review options

Project information is being linked to off of the project charter (http://www.loc.gov/extranet/wiki/osi/ndiip/ndsa/index.php?title=Audit_and_Certification:_Understanding_Options_for_Addressing_Standards_and_Requirements). We had our first call and the next call is scheduled for June 5 from 2-3.

2. Winston Adkins/ Mary Vardigan - working to archive staffing survey data and assign it a DOI so that it can be linked to the staffing survey report. Should have data archived by the end of June

3. Meg Phillips - Staffing survey report Team - we want the report to be posted to the NDSA web site, but we are also looking for other journals to submit for publication

4. Andrea - Levels of Preservation - (2) presentations have been made recently (IS&T Archiving 2013, NE NDSA Regional Workshop), and a draft based on recent feedback has been prepared to post on The Signal blog. Meg is in agreement with the feedback, but wants to keep additional input. There was (1) person specifically that wants to comment (Christoph Becker) because he was the main source of the feedback, but he is unavailable until early June.

5. Meg also brought up the need to review the Levels once more, but that maybe this was a topic for a "Lightening talk" at the annual meeting. Butch acknowledged that we are already down for a 1-hour breakout session for the July meeting.

6. Butch has had several good conversations about the PDF/A-3 issue - including a "pdf validator" tool (from the PDF Association) that would be independent of any vendor.

7. Kate brought up the thought that maybe we could meet at 7/23, 10 am to discuss the Wikipedia project status?

8. Meg had some closing thoughts about overall efforts that we are taking for the dissemination of our national agenda efforts. Is the national agenda complete? John Spencer brought up that he was under the impression that Butch is creating a list of PR people for us to reach out to at the appropriate time.
