Survey of Members

Abbie shared the survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8ZZ55DJ) and encouraged participants to take it. A new member just joined the work group today; we’re at nearly 100 members [updated list after the meeting to account for a few members that joined in May but I'd missed - we are at 100! - AG], so co-chairs are trying to figure out how to proceed. Survey should help provide fodder for discussion at in-person meeting.

Plans for July In-Person Meeting/Digital Preservation 2013

In-person meeting is set for working lunch on Tuesday 7/23 11:15 – 12:45 (opening session starts at 1 pm). Several attendees on the call will be present at the meeting. Abbie will send menu for sandwich orders. Agenda will be going over survey results and focusing on how content teams can work better. Also, what we should be doing during these all-hands calls: move to more presentation/discussion type meetings rather than reporting out from content teams? Frame discussions around national agenda (which will be released at July meeting)? Case studies have worked in some cases but not for every team, and there could be other things that people want to be doing, or perhaps people want less doing and more information sharing. Other agenda topics were solicited. Abbie may want to run another web archiving survey (last one was 2 years ago).

At the Digital Preservation meeting Abbie will be giving a lightning talk about our Case Studies – based on Best Practices Exchange talk, but will have to be pared down to fit in 5 minutes. Anne Harrison suggested adding Legislative Histories (draft) to slide listing case studies. Anne agreed to add the draft to the Wiki. Abbie will finish up slides and send them to the listserv for comments.

Content team Updates

Cultural Heritage Group has been merged with Arts and Humanities, with new co-chairs. Abbie will send the news to the Content Working Group listserv.

Next Meetings

Next in-person meeting is scheduled for July 23, 2013, 11:15-12:45 ET (time has slightly shifted since previous announcements). There will be no webex/phone available (only in person discussion).

Next group call is scheduled for September 4, which is right in the middle of iPres, so it may need to be rescheduled.
