Blog Preservation

An outcome of the CWG workshop, an action team was formed to explore the idea of a blog preservation plugin for Wordpress, Blogger and maybe other platforms.

If others are interested in this topic and willing to help, please contact Abbie or Kristine. Someone with some technical expertise would be useful!

Work Plan

  • Abbie to get in touch with contact at Wordpress that was at Citizen Journalism Meeting (COMPLETED by email), Andrew Nacin.
  • Talk to him by phone in early September. He is very into the idea and can over programming support to make this happen). COMPLETED. See minutes and next steps outlined here: File:CWGBlogPreservation proposal.pdf
  • Distribute minutes via NDSA CWG for comment. COMPLETED.
  • Meeting at LC/via Webex to discuss outstanding policy concerns/questions and next steps for a pilot.COMPLETED. Meeting Minutes
  • Working with Andrew at WordPress to develop plugins and do testing, then pilot. IN PROCESS BUT STALLED - Andrew hasn't gotten back to us after a number of requests.
