Meeting Notes

Discussed the first draft prepared by Sheila Morrissey of the NDSA report on PDF/A. Also discussed Sheila's upcoming presentation at the PDF Associations' Technical Conference North America 2013, August 14-15, 2013 in Seattle, Washington.

There was broad discussion on the form of the report, concentrating on the idea of offering various "scenarios" of use and presenting potential pros and cons of usage within each of the scenarios.

The current draft will be put up in the Google doc and all are welcome to do edits over the next few weeks, with a target of mid-September 2013 for another draft.

Actions

• Put draft into Google Doc (Butch)
• Butch will reengage Duff Johnson about possibilities for participation in the Technical Conference North America
• All members should send a brief sentence or two ASAP on "why" their organization is engagement with the PDF/A-3 education process for Sheila to incorporate in her slides for the Technical Conference (all)
• Contact Leonard Rosenthal of PDF Standards about a possible call to discuss PDF/A-3 implementation issues from the Adobe perspective (Butch)
• Prepare scenario to regarding GeoPDF conformance to PDF/A-3 to pass along to Michael Bufkin of Terrago (Caroline)
