Rollout of 2014 National Agenda for Digital Stewardship

Completed Activities:

  • Met with funders on first day of Digital Preservation 2013 meeting, July 23, 2013. Follow-up actions?
  • Sent copies of the draft press release and Executive Summary to NDSA partners and press contacts, resulting in the press coverage from many NDSA member organizations around the release of the Agenda on July 23, 2013
  • Volunteers are finishing contacting all NDSA Organizations to gather and update contact information. This will be shared with Barrie and Michelle in preparation for reupping MOUs


Presentation Coordination

  • Team to coordinate presentations: Erin Engle, Carol Minton-Morris, Michelle Gallinger, Butch Lazorchak
  • Webinars: Coordinate agenda for a series of public webinars to be held in the Fall. Carol will coordinate a "generic" session in late Sept./early Oct. to be hosted by Duraspace.
    • Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL), 10/16, 1pm EST, w/ Micah Altman, Blane Dessy, and Meg Phillips
    • DuraSpace webinars (3 total). First one will be an overview presentation on the Agenda by Butch on Thursday November 7 at 1:00pmET. Second and third will follow, each diving into a little more detail on specific projects that draw on the Agenda. Carol Minton-Morris will coordinate the final two presentations.
    • Targeted webinar for CENDI (Suggested by Blane Dessy, LC contact Tina Gheen (tghe@loc.gov))
    • Other potential targeted webinars for SAA, Federal Government Record Managers group, DC Chapter of SLA, DC chapter of American Association of Law Libraries, etc.
  • Public Presentations: Schedule and coordinate "road show" presentations for the Fall of 2013:
    • CNI, Washington, DC December 9-10, 2013. Presenter: Micah Altman. Also need to nail down format for presentation.
    • DLF, Nov. 4-6, 2013 in Austin, Tx, poster presentation during Community Idea Exchange. Volunteers: Jonathan Markow, DuraSpace; Robin Ruggaber, UVA; Emily Frieda Shaw, Univ Iowa Libraries
    • Best Practices Exchange, Salt Lake City, Nov. 13-15, 2013. Presenter: Butch
    • ALA Midwinter, January 24-27, 2014, possibly at Digital Preservation Working Group meeting, need to contact interest group chairs. Also possible pre-conference workshop for NDSA Regional Meeting
    • Webwise: Not currently scheduled but generally in March 2014.
  • Author documents and other publications
    • Rachel Frick has offered to publish something on the NDSA as part of the DLF publication factsheet series. The draft of the doc is here. Completed.
    • D-Lib "In Brief" due to dblib Nov. 4. Carol drafted.


  • Establish a conference calendar? Shared "digital humanities" calendar maintained by Amanda French is here.
    • Actions: Get list of upcoming conferences, dates and locations.
