Agenda

  1. Introductions
  2. Catch up ongoing projects
  3. Discuss agenda for next call
  4. Presentation from Max Eckard, Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan

From Max: The Mellon-funded Archivematica-ArchivesSpace-DSpace Workflow Integration project (we're also toying with Archival Integration Project, or AIP--get it?) seeks to expedite the ingest, description, and overall curation of digital archives by facilitating the creation and reuse of descriptive and administrative metadata among Archivematica and ArchivesSpace and streamlining the deposit of fully processed content into our digital preservation repository built on DSpace. We're a little over a year into this two-year process. During our talk, we'll give a brief overview of our institutional context before discussing project goals and the progress we've made so far.

  • Abbey Potter is serving as interim co-chair for the IWG through the NDSA host transition which is scheduled to happen by September 30, 2015.
  • If anyone is interested in taking on the other open co-chair seat, please let Abbey or Karen or Trevor know. The co-chairs work together to come up with agendas for each monthly meeting, contacting speakers, and helping the group start and complete projects. A big thank you to Karen and Trevor for leading the IWG so well for the past four years.
  • The migration guidance and storage survey documents are still in the works, Abbey will follow up with Erin and Micah (respectively) to get these published.
  • Trevor drafted up a set of questions [3] around a possible Infrastructure Tour series on The Signal
