Short Papers Ideas
- Guidance on Web Archiving
- 2-3 pages max
- For a general audience, no jargon
- Summarizes current practices, current challenges, and how site owners / content creators can make sites archive friendly
- Would be something that could be handed out to site owners, legislators, and the like
- Could also be a model for basic, simple, handout-style guidance for other types of born-digital collections: born-digital personal collections, electronic records, etc
- Jefferson will write up abstract and has a couple of collaborators and will get more via ndsa-all
- Mock Digital Disaster Planning
- Maybe write up a blog post to help get feedback on framing the idea
- Pose the questions of if/why that would be useful
- Idea of coordinating with SAA's MayDay event on disaster planning (http://www2.archivists.org/initiatives/mayday-saving-our-archives) in May 2015 -- could orient delivery date around that
- Idea of working on the idea/paper/whatever at IIPC (April 2015) and at LC Storage Meeting (Fall 2015)
- Maureen will help (as possible pre-delivery) and Jane will help behind the scenes
- Jefferson will write up an abstract, but may need name not on a blog post
