CWG Meeting notes
1. Activity charters for work group activity
o NDSA has developed a template for formally describing the activities and projects of the working groups. Easier for articulating what each group is working on
o Abbie has started a draft for CWG
o does not need to be for large/formal projects necessarily, can be for smaller activities that folks are gathering around
o Sections of the draft that Need work:
 work on statements
 strategic value
o Thoughts on developing the Activity Charter:
 Will need to be generic / high level
 We do not define the problems/goals of the case studies
o Thoughts on the case studies
 Value is in the knowledge sharing and the clarity yielded by the writing process
 The case studies are not for sharing with the stakeholders per say, but to guide our internal collecting communities on how to work with the stakeholders.
 We must think about how we are going to educate our stakeholders.

have started drafts of case studies:
*NDSA has developed a template for formally describing the activities and projects of the working groups. Easier for articulating what each group is working on
Community / local news
*Abbie has started a draft for CWG Content Teams
Citizen Journalism
*does not need to be for large/formal projects necessarily, can be for smaller activities that folks are gathering around
Digital e-prints of newspapers
*Sections of the draft that need work:
o Government Content Team

discussed the type of preservation scenarios they face
 
collecting database information = easy
Thoughts on developing the Activity Charter:
GIS = hard
**Will need to be generic / high level
have an interest in the case studies including different institutions defining their unique or specific preservation challenges.
**We do not define the problems/goals of the case studies
Talked about addressing the need for more cooperation from stakeholders/creators at the outset - for better metadata, formats.
 
Is the hope that the case study will be used for educating stakeholders?
