Digital Preservation in a Box Action Team | |||
A general discussion on the next steps for the Digital Preservation in a Box activity. | |||
Shane Beers mentioned that he has an intern at the U of Michigan starting in Jan. 2012 that will be working with the NDSA Outreach and Standards groups, helping to push the “Digital Preservation in a Box” activity forward with resource gathering and other activities. | |||
Kim Schroeder at Wayne State is looking to explore starting Box student groups. | |||
Storyteller action team | |||
Amanda French describe the early work of the Storyteller action team. They are working to collect stories of data loss and preservation by soliciting stories from NDSA institutions. | |||
The draft call for stories has gone out and it is ready to be distributed to wider groups. | |||
She has set up a “draft” Omeka instance to display the stories once they have been fleshed out: | |||

As homework, each NDSA outreach member should contribute one story, and should also encourage students to share their stories. |
