The NDSA Coordinating Committee call began with introductions from each of the committee members.
A request was made for a listserv for the Coordinating Committee.
Topics for the July meeting were discussed, including:
- Request for "State of the Working Group" written updates, approximately one page in length prior to the meeting.
- Report outs from Working Group Chairs at the July 19th Coordinating Committee meeting
- Specific information from each of the working groups on what challenges or sticking points they are facing.
- Direction about what the 3-5 year goals are for the NDSA and how the Coordinating Committee can help the Alliance to realize those goals.
There was a review of the current state of membership. It was recommended that the NDSA reach out to:
- PACA -- Picture Archive Council of America, a stock photography association
- SPE -- Society for Photographic Education, a group of college educators
- RIAA -- Recording Industry Association of America
- MEIEA (http://www.meiea.org/), and it is focused around colleges and universities that have recording programs.
- DDEX -- Digital Data EXchange, they are a global membership organization focused on XML standard messaging suites for e-commerce providers.
- NARAS --("The Recording Academy"), engage the Producers and Engineer's Wing (Maureen Droney)
- NARM -- digital reporting side work (and also working with DDEX)
