Project plans flesh out more details of a project. It answers the same questions as a project charter, but often in more detail. Please contribute project plan examples to the DLF Project Managers Toolkit.

Some sections of a project plan could include:

  • History or description
  • Justification or rationale
  • Scope
  • Funding source(s)
  • Stakeholders list
  • Technical requirements (in-house or vendor)
  • Roles and responsibilities by project milestone
  • Operations of managing project documentation and communication
  • Timeline
