We are:
The group serves as a community of practice for practitioners in the areas of user experience, user research, user interface design, and similar work. We also engage in collaborative projects that aim to provide guidance to digital libraries in the areas of usability, user behavior, user research methodologies,  and user experience design.

* collecting additional resources to add to those already tagged


We expect to drill down to compare how others measure various aspects and develop their studies.
== UX Areas of Investigation ==
UX mentorship program- We are investigating how to develop a UX mentorship program within the DLF community to help practitioners not only develop their skills but navigate their unique job requirements.


We will compare and contrast use of terms and measures across the literature, using this to form guidelines, which we expect to share as a white paper.
UX information sharing and peer support- We invite members to present case studies at our monthly meetings to expand knowledge among our members in UX methods and tools. Members can also bring unfinished projects to solicit feedback or ask questions of the group.


In the areas where we encounter conflicts and variations, we will report on our findings and determine how to move forward to resolve the issues necessary to develop guidelines.
UX discussion group- Members may lead a discussion around a topic, tool, or resource


We are seeking broader participation!
Collaborative projects- The group has previously collaborated on longer term projects with deliverables such as white papers

First the the UX Working Group plans to to reach out to libraries, museums, and archives and gather examples of personas designed for DLs. After gathering these resources the group will evaluate them to identify commonalities and differences. A summary of work will then used to support the creation of a best practice guide that is informed by user personas research internal and external to DL practitioners. The final output of this project will be a web resource that includes best practices and highlighted DL user personas from libraries, museums, and archives. This online resource will be made available through the Digital Library Federation.

The User Experience (UX) Working Group is a subset of the Digital Libraries Federation User Studies Assessment Interest Group and previously named Usability Studies Guidelines and Best Practices Working Group. The working group formed in 2015.

This working group builds on the following work products of previous AIG working groups:

  2. The white paper: Surveying the Landscape: Use and Usability Assessment of Digital Libraries
