			Kristine and Abbie are hoping to meet soon with a contact at WordPress about a blog preservation plugin. They will report back once that meeting occurs.

			Abbie is still working on the survey. Comments still welcome - the draft is posted to the wiki. She hopes to get it out by the end of September.

			==Misc.==

			Joel noted that selection issues kept coming up at the July meetings. When we talk about priorities and things at risk, it's also important to talk about value - what is extremely important to save. This needs to be in the mix, we should continue to keep thinking with this perspective in mind. All agreed that it would be useful to weave this notion into all of our CWG work. We talked a bit about how we might open up the dialog about value with others outside our community, generate input. Cathy suggested a blog post for the NDIIPP blog to talk about selection and value. Joel and Kristine agreed to work on this jointly. Abbie can be the liaison with the blog team at LC; they welcome ideas and contributions from NDSA members. Post should be 500-800 words.

	The group discussed this need for outreach more fully, and the need to coordinate with the Outreach WG. Abbie and Cathy will try to talk with the chairs soon: Butch and Carol. Margie and Deborah have been following what they are doing, but not too active in the other groups. Right now they are focused out outreach to library school community, we think, but building a framework for reaching out to other communities.

			Margie talked about the call that the newly formed action team, and how some clarification of what it was they were supposed to be doing was needed. We talked about what was discussed at the breakout table at the July workshop, and really the need is to understand what is at risk in this area. More granularity with local government information categories is needed, there are different issues depending on the local environment. We talked about a survey, that might be useful to get a sense of some of the issues, and whether the states are providing any guidance to local governments about preservation and retention of digital information. Who is thinking about these issues at the state and local levels, and what's being done. Margie pointed out there are existing surveys that have been done; maybe a compilation of those into a list to share with others would be useful. We could capture information and promote as a part of NDSA.

Probably tons of examples. How do we get at that sort of thing? John asked about pre-digital, how was it handled? Is this new to the digital world? Our guess is that it always existed, but with paper content is easier to resurrect. We’re not so sure electronic info is being uncovered when changes take place.

For those of us who haven't yet read the notes from the workshop, please do. Abbie sent them out yesterday.

Kristine and others attending reported out from the workshop. Interesting ideas came out of the workshop to move forward. We need volunteers to step up and help out at this point. We had the workshop to move the discussion forward, to help identify the at-risk categories and refine the list. Examples were shown. We broke up into groups and there were action items identified from each group of where we could go next.
